OCIMF Compliance.

The OCIMF has recently released an initiave to compile a worldwide data center on all marine terminals.  This project is known as the Marine Terminal Information System (MTIS).  The goal of the MTIS is to create worldwide safety standards and compile information on all marine terminals while developing a marine terminal safety system. Callooh Maritime has responded  to this initiave by designating a special division of the surveying group to ensure that the OCIMF’s projected deadlines are met.

Marine Terminal Particulars Questionnaire (MTPQ)

The first stage of MTIS is having OCIMF members conduct Marine Terminal Particulars Questionnaires (or MTPQ). An MTPQ is a query which includes terminal details, berth details, berth load/discharge capabilities, operational integrity details, water depths, and vessel dimension limitations. In order to complete MTPQ’s, companies must either dedicate a considerable amount of manpower and time to do so, or  seek to complete them through a third party surveying company.
